VIKING FOOTBALL ALUMNI CAPITAL CAMPAIGN 2013

Dear Viking Alumnus,
I hope this letter finds you well.
Over the past 16 years over 400 athletes have participated in Viking Football and we believe that the core values of PRIDE, EFFORT, TEAMWORK, COMMITMENT and CHARACTER have greatly benefitted these athletes even beyond their playing days. We hope that in some small way Viking football has meant something to you. We also hope to continue the legacy of Viking football well into the future.
In order to ensure a strong connection to our past we have worked hard developing our webpage to reflect our rich history. On our webpage you will find pictures, presentations and registered former alumni. We are continually adding content so please check back regularly. I would encourage you to visit our website at www.vmvikings.com and register as an alumnus if you have not already. Please feel free to email us with any suggestions at [email protected]
On the webpage you will also see information about an annual alumni Capital campaign. Each year we hope to raise funds through our alumni to support a capital project. This year’s capital project is called the Alumni Tower. The Alumni Tower will be a spotter’s booth that would allow coaches to film and observe the game from an elevated position. Our field has seen tremendous improvements over the past few years including new sod, underground sprinklers, football goalposts and an electronic scoreboard. We believe that the Alumni Tower would be a great addition to this already spectacular facility. The approximate cost of the tower is $10,000.
Our goal is to get 100 alumni to donate $100. If you as a former Viking would like to contribute please fill out the attached form (friends of education fund – please specify Vincent Massey Tower) and mail or return it to Vincent Massey (all donations are tax deductible). All who contribute will be given an alumni shirt and season tickets to all 2013 home games. I would encourage you to send this email on to any alumni you are still in contact with.
I would also like to see the formation of an alumni association that would help oversee fund raising efforts, make recommendations for the Viking Hall of Fame, help with capital campaigns and coordinate Alumni events.
