Mark, Tim and Scott O'Rourke (Players 1999-2007)
The O’Rourke brothers have left an indelible mark on the Viking football program. Each brother contributed in their own way to the program, but each reflected the true values of Viking Football.
Mark was one of the earliest members of the Viking program and played linebacker for the team. On the field Mark was a tough and smart linebacker who played hard from the start to the end of the play. The coaches relied on Mark’s calm demeanor to settle and lead the other members of the Viking defense. Mark had a particularly good grasp of defensive concepts and opposing offences could not fool Mark into missing his assignments. Mark was an especially important member of the 1999 and 2000 Championship teams. After football Mark married his high school sweetheart Jen and he obtained his Business Administration degree, Mark currently is a Principal Partner with MNP in Moosomin. Mark and Jen have three children (McKinley, Baylor, and Myers) who are all actively involved in various sports.
Tim played Viking football during the 1999-2002 seasons and he helped the team win many games and Championships during that time. Tim was a very physical player who could control the best defensive lineman opposing teams had to offer. Tim was relentless and selfless in his play and would do whatever it took to help his team and teammates succeed. Tim always had a smile on his face and his teammates loved him because of his kind demeanor. Tim always showed up to practice with a positive attitude and always strived to get better. Tim is married to Amanda and they have two children (Connor and Griffin). Tim stayed in the family business and runs a Petro-Canada here in Brandon.
Scott grew up watching his older brothers play football and “couldn’t wait” to get his turn to suit up for the Vikings. That chance came in 2003 when he started playing as a grade 9 student. What Scott lacked in size and ability he made up for with his heart, grit, and determination. Scott loved being a Viking and it showed, he was always willing to help the team in any way he could. Scott played offensive line for the first three years of his playing career and then moved to linebacker during his last year. Scott was an excellent teammate who inspired and motivated the players around him because Scott always gave 100 percent regardless of a game or a practice. Scott’s positive attitude was infectious, and he always looked at the positives of any situation. Scott joined the coaching staff of the Vikings and spent four years giving back to the program he loved so much. Scott is currently a Nuclear Medicine Technologist here in Brandon. Scott is married to Katie and they are expecting their first little Viking in December.

Eric Cliplef (Player 1999-2002)
Eric Cliplef (Player 1999-2002)
Eric was a dominant force on the defensive line for the Vikings during his time at Massey. Teams would wait and see where Eric lined up to make sure they could run away from him. Eric had a rare combination of strength and speed his athleticism was “off the charts” as one coach remembers. Eric helped the Vikings win many games and championships during his time in the trenches. Eric was also respected by his teammates because of his positive attitude and friendly demeanor. Eric was also a very cerebral player who understood the nuances of the game inside and out. Eric went on to play football at Valley City state in North Dakota and he currently lives in Edmonton.
