2019 Vincent Massey Viking Hall of Fame class

Brady Dane

Picture
Brady Dane joined the Vincent Massey football program as a young grade 9 student in the fall of 2005. It was immediately apparent that Brady had a deep love and passion for the game of football, however nobody could predict the overwhelmingly positive impact Brady would have on football in Brandon. Brady, under the tutelage of Coach Pink, became a dominate force on the Viking offensive line for four years. During that time Brady demonstrated that he was a true student of the game, using his brains as much as his brawn to find success on the field. It would be hard to argue that there has been a more passionate or loyal player to wear Viking purple. Brady always wore his heart on his sleeve and his passion and commitment inspired his teammates. During his four years as a Viking Brady captured a JV Championship as well as the inaugural 12 man RMFL championship. In 2007 Brady was the Viking co-MVP and he was an integral part of the very important 2008 team that saw the Vikings transition from 9-man to 12 –man football that eventually lead to the team to joining the Winnipeg High School football league. After his Viking Career Brady had a very successful campaign with the Westman Wolverines Major Junior program.
There is no other person in Brandon that spends as much time as Brady does developing young football players in our city and surrounding area. Brady has been involved in the Westman Youth Football league as a coach since he was in grade 9, he is the current president of the league and he has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012. Brady is the current offensive Coordinator for the Vikings and the Head Coach for the Westman Wolverines. Brady graduated from Brandon University with a Political Science degree and he currently works for the City of Brandon in Community Development.

Eric Barbour

Picture
Eric “Barbs” Barbour started his football career during the inaugural season of the Westman Youth Football league. Eric instantly showed a great deal of proficiency on the field and it was evident very early that Eric was going to be an exceptional football player. Eric was part of the 2004 championship team and he received Team MVP Honours in 2006. As a player Eric was relentless, his effort and commitment set him apart from most players. As a student of Coach Pink, Eric excelled on the grid iron providing stability on the Viking offensive line for four years. Eric was quiet and personable and he was beloved by his teammates and coaches, his positive attitude was infectious and it lead the Vikings through a difficult year in 2006. On the field you could always count on Eric to be prepared and  he would always give you his best effort. He dominated opposing defensive lines with his quickness, technique and pure strength. Eric was always very coachable and he always put the needs of the team before his own. Never requiring adulation for his work, Eric worked tireless to make our Viking program successful.
After his playing career Eric played junior football for the Surry Rams and he received the Rookie of the Year award. Eric then went on to play for his hometown Wolverines and he is currently a coach with the team. Eric began attending Brandon University in 2015 and he is pursuing his Education Degree.

Keegan Treloar

Picture
Keegan goes into the HOF as the first specialty player. Keegan was the Viking kicker from 2007-2010. Keegan was completely committed to the art of kicking and he spent countless hours practicing his craft. Often Keegan could be found at Vincent Massey during his spare time kicking field goals and punting.  His hard worked payed off as he became the most prolific kicker in Viking history. Keegan’s leg was an effective tool that pinned offensives deep in the opposing territory where a hungry Viking defense waited. Keegan also gave confidence to the Viking coaching staff, who were always wary of kicking field goals, when Keegan lined up for a field goal it was a certainty that the team would come away with points. Keegan also attended numerous camps and connected personally with kickers that could mentor him along the way. Keegan captured a WHSFL record by kicking six field goals in one game against the Tec Voc Hornets. Keegan was also named the Team MVP in 2010.  Keegan is an excellent example of what happens when you commit to a goal and practice diligently towards it, his hard work and commitment to excellence are something our young Vikings can look towards for inspiration.
After High School Keegan had a very successful USPORT Career. He was recruited by and played 5 seasons with Concordia University in Montreal. During that time Keegan became the leading scorer in school history, he recorded the longest field goal in a game (53 yards), he participated in the USPORT East/West bowl and he was invited to the CFL combine. Keegan also graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business. Keegan currently lives in Vancouver where he manages logistics for tours including Justin Timberlake, Lada Gaga, Queen and Adam Lambert.
